Do I have to be a UK resident to form a company?

You do not have to be a UK resident, but your company must have a UK registered office address.

Do I need to be present during the company formation process?

No, you can complete the entire process online without even leaving your home or office! Your new company documents will be emailed to you in PDF format on the day of registration.

Do I need shareholders for my limited company?

A limited company (limited by shares) must have at least one shareholder. There’s no limit on the maximum number of shareholders. However, you can be the sole shareholder (in addition to being the director), owning 100% of the company. The price of an individual share can be any value. You can choose a low share value, such as £1 per share.

What is a registered office?

This is the official address of a limited company or LLP. It must be a physical address situated in the UK jurisdiction in which you form your company - PO Box numbers are not permitted.

Do I need to reside in the UK to be a director?

No, you do not need to be a UK individual to be a director of a limited company.

If I don’t visit the UK, which bank will I get to open an account in?

When will I get confirmation of my new company formation?

We will typically register your new company within 24 hours of you submitting your online application. You will receive the official paperwork via email as soon as your company is registered at Companies House.

What information will I need to complete my company formation?

To register a company, you will first need to choose a unique company name. You'll also need to provide the full name, residential address, date of birth, nationality, business occupation, telephone number and place of birth.

Can I use my home as the registered address for my new company?

You can use your home address, but we don't recommend it. Your home address will be publicly available for anyone, including marketing agencies and the general public, to view. That's why most companies prefer to use our registered office service, which gives you a prestigious business address.

What are the advantages of registering a limited company in the UK?

The cost and speed of incorporating in the UK is much lower compared to other countries. It will just take few hours to register a UK company. There are no minimum capital requirements and you do not need a lawyer, accountant, magistrate or notary to form a company.
